He was a great painter and a great friend. His usual presence in the programs of our Galleries ofGirona and Figueres were admired and accepted by the public who saw in their work a wonderful mastery of the
chiaroscuro, of the vibration of light in the penumbra.
The composition of his paintings between shadow and vibrant light is an intimate and leisurely dialogue that Rafael Català offers us with a seductive and exceptional grandeur.
