Prominent Catalan painter and illustrator, mainly recognized for his seascapes and figurative compositions depicting the landscapes of the Costa Brava and the Empordà region.
Initially self-taught and later perfecting his craft at the Royal Artistic Circle of Barcelona, Sarquella developed a style strongly influenced by the Catalan landscape tradition and Post-Impressionism.
His work stands out for a masterly command of light, a vivid palette, and a loose, energetic brushstroke that faithfully captured the atmosphere of Mediterranean fishing villages.
Throughout his career, he exhibited regularly at the El Claustre Gallery, winning numerous awards in painting competitions.
Today, his works are included in prominent public and private collections of Catalan art.
